I saw the translation on the title of that clip, and it says Battle of Nevsky: Alexander Nevsky vs. Birger Jarl. I'm not all that familiar with that particular part of history, but when I was in Stockholm this summer there was all sort of information in the museums and historic sites I visited about a guy called Birger Jarl who actually founded the settlement that later became Stockholm. Maybe the same guy?

I posted a cool pic of Birger Jarl in the Gallery. ... cool medieval stuff
Also his arms.

Apparently, Birger Jarl attacked Alexander in 1240 at Neva, Alexander won the battle and
saved the city.. so that is where he became Alexander Nevsky.. or of Neva at 19 years old!!!

very interesting.. I knew there was more to medieval history than 14th century scratch

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Neva_battle_of_1240
Check it out if you have a chance..

whats cool here is that there is no record of this Battle in Swedish records.. the write up explains a bit..

The russians are putting out alot of good moviies, like Wolfhound. That rocked. I like the lichina face visors on their helms. One of the true face type helm visors.
Since russian armor trends were always about 100-200 years behind europe in styles, its a good persona if you like to mismatch old and new armor. Very useful.
